The FSB and Plymouth University have teamed up to provide free taster courses in marketing, accounting for non accountants, managing change and project management. I am a senior lecturer in organisational studies at the University of the West of England, where I am module leader for our 3rd year module in 'Organisational leadership', and joint module leader for the full time and executive MBA modules in 'Leadership, complexity and change'. My research interests include strategic and board leadership in financial institutions and I have advised the Banking Standards Board on matters of gender, leadership and risk, contributed to the Treasury Select Committee 'Women in Finance' inquiry and am a guest speaker for the 'Westminster Policy Forum' on matters of corporate governance, leadership and risk. I am also involved in entrepreneurship as a supervisor for Team Entrepreneurship students who are starting their own businesses, and as a course writer and facilitator for small business courses in accountancy and finance, teams and change management for the SW Federation of Small Businesses. Alongside my husband, I run a 65 acre small holding and medical imaging company.
